Adrià Martínez

Founder · Product design and development

Adrià co-founded Mecexis and has led the studio since 2012. His work starts before development, with understanding what a business wants to achieve, what holds it back and where technology can help. From there, he helps shape the product and guides the decisions that determine its future.

Understanding the business to build better

He combines business perspective with technical judgement. He works with clients to organise requirements, identify dependencies and separate essentials from what can wait. This is also the foundation of Noesis, the discovery and definition phase that starts Mecexis projects.

His role is to turn that understanding into a shared direction. Defining scope, resolving questions that block the team and explaining the consequences of each option are all part of that work. Cost, user experience, integrations and maintenance are considered together.

Experience with products that have to deliver

Leading Mecexis, he has supported projects as varied as the official ACB app, B2B ecommerce, the Square One audiovisual platform and AI document management in Quiralis. This breadth offers perspective on complex processes and products that must fit into an organisation’s operations.

He has also been a partner and project director in his own ventures. He understands the responsibility of deciding where to invest effort, what to validate before growing and how to develop a product as needs change.

Involvement beyond launch

He advocates a direct, transparent relationship with clients, helping them understand decisions, retain control of their projects and own software they can maintain and develop. For Adrià, leading a project also means considering what happens after the team delivers its first version.

Before the studio, there was FrontPage.

He started making websites at seven, using FrontPage. By his second year of secondary school, he had already built his first paid website, before earning his school diploma. That curiosity about building things on the internet would eventually become Mecexis, whose first studio project in 2012 was a B2B ecommerce platform.
