SART and Institut Roura run all their surgical activity on Quiralis. Operating room reports no longer arrive on paper. Each piece of data is entered once and flows all the way to billing without anyone having to type it again. Processes are simpler, the centre saves time and money, and the hours the team spent reviewing paperwork have dropped drastically.
Two very different centres with the same problem
One had a system from the eighties. The other did almost everything by hand.
SART is an anaesthesiology and resuscitation group with decades of experience in private healthcare. It was a pioneer, and by the late eighties it already had its own management system. Institut Roura, on the other hand, ran on manual processes that depended on the daily effort of its administrative team.
Between them, the two centres employ 70 to 80 medical, nursing and administrative professionals. And both needed the same thing: to stop losing hours to paperwork without having to stop operating room activity.

Replacing a system with more than thirty years of use, with a team used to working in a particular way, could not be done overnight.
We rolled Quiralis out in phases. Each module was tested in production with real users while the usual processes kept running, until each area was ready to make the switch. Talking often with doctors and administrative staff let us fit the platform to their day-to-day work, which is exactly where generic software falls short.

Quiralis is built with Django and PostgreSQL on Docker infrastructure, and it draws on the management screen system we at Mecexis have been refining project after project. It is easy to maintain and extend, and it can take on new surgical centres without starting from scratch.
The next step is to bring AI and automation to more document types and more administrative tasks. The principle stays the same: technology does the repetitive work and people make the decisions.
